Evidence-based Training

Evidence Based Training (EBT), as endorsed by ICAO, IATA and IFALPA, and many regulatory bodies, including the FAA and EASA, arose from an industry-wide consensus that, in order to reduce the airline accident rate, a strategic review of recurrent and type-rating training for airline pilots was necessary. The concepts are now being adopted by national regulators, being implemented by airlines and flowing into the helicopter world. Baseline EBT programs are significantly enhanced by incorporation of data from a rigorous LOSA process.
